17446 Clinical Application Specialist - CHAMPS Detailed Position Description: ? This position will be responsible for workflow design, prototyping, application configuration and support of the Cerner Millennium applications as implemented at Children?s Hospital Boston. The system is known as Children?s Hospital Applications Maximizing Patient Safety (CHAMPS). ? This position is comprised of 50% design and configuration of new functionality and 50% maintenance and support of previously implemented functionality. ? The Clinical Applications Specialist serves as a bridge between the CHAMPS clinical subject matter experts (SMEs) and the CHAMPS applications. ? **EMR Software Staff Development Specialist** Join Children?s Hospital Boston to work on an exciting Electronic Medical Record?s (EMR) Project for its Community Pediatric Practices. An EMR Training Specialist is needed to train end users at physician practices in Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records Software. The candidate will be supporting individual member practices in the Boston area through the EMR implementation process to analyze office workflow design, assist in EMR project management activities, and coordinate and conduct practice training. **EPIC RESOLUTE ANALYST** Performs substantive role and is accountable for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of billing software applications for multiple physician groups (Foundations). Provides user support and training for professional billing applications being implemented at multiple Foundations. Performs special projects associated with the development of improved business processes and procedures related to these billing systems. Acts as a liaison between ISD, outside vendors, and individual Foundations. Generates and develops monthly and ad-hoc reports related to billing activity. Supports the PO IT Project Manager during implementation of Epic Professional Resolute application. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Serves on the project team to implement Professional Resolute application in multiple physician groups. 2. Provides training, addresses technical issues and helps facilitate procedural changes. Provides and creates documentation on application installations and upgrades. Visits offsite facilities for training when necessary. 3. Serves as the system ?expert? and is a resource to Foundation personnel on Hospital wide projects and initiatives related to billing system. 4. Assists in the development and maintenance of controls to assure proper data reporting of patient billing activity. 5. Answers questions from users at Foundations and billing companies regarding carious data input processes, procedures, and problems. Disseminates this knowledge to management and staff to guide in application support and best practices 9. Works with Foundations in rate development and maintenance of the charge description master. Inputs annual and ad-hoc changes into the system related to charge codes for each Foundation. Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job 1. Pediatric Transplant Center Clinical Information System Lead Position Summary The Pediatric Transplant Center IS Lead position will perform the functions of a traditional software system analyst, but within a highly specialized, intensive clinical area within Children?s Hospital Boston (CHB). The position will be providing support to the Heart, Lung, Kidney, Liver and Intestine/Multivisceral transplant programs within the Pediatric Transplant Center. The position will be responsible for carrying out various activities in support of end-users and the clinical systems within the Transplant department. The main function of the Clinical Analyst position will be to assist ISD (information systems department) in implementing highly effective software systems that meet the complex needs of the clinical users. It will be key that the candidate contains a skill set to effectively communicate and translate complex clinical terms and situations into precise software specifications. The candidate should be capable of leading initiatives to scope and design appropriate system functionality for envisioned systems. The responsibilities of this position will include: performing analysis of clinical workflows; gathering system requirements; creating specification documents; planning, designing, testing and verifying software systems; coordinating work efforts between ISD and the Pediatric Transplant Center; training of clinical end-users and their staff; and evaluating application and database issues.
